Memory Game

MEMORY GAME

1. As a comment on this post, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Going in for ANOTHER visit

So, we were able to visit the Sparrow hospital pediatric ER again but this time it turned out a lot differently than we had planned...

This time we went in because this morning Kenzie woke up with a really bad rash and she was scratching it like crazy and it was too early to go to the doctor's office and it was getting bad fast. Well, we got there and told the nurse at the desk what was going on and also asked her if a bone was broken if there would for sure be swelling and bruising and she said to ask the doctor and see what he/she said about it. When the doctor FINALLY came in she looked at the rash and decided that it wasn't chicken pox, just an allergic reation to something. I then told her this story - on Saturday I was going down to do a load of laundry and I usually carry the laundry down the stairs telling Kenzie the whole time to stay at the top and I will come and get her because I would rather leave the laundry in the parking lot than her. So she decided that she wanted to do it herself and started walking down all by herself, I told her that if she wanted to come down herself she had to turn around and come down backwards so she was turning around and lost her footing and fell down the stairs. Unfortunately on one side of the stairs there is a hole and she fell through the hole and onto the ground below. As I look back it is better that it happened this way because she landed on the mulch by the bush instead of the cement at the bottom of the stairs. Well, I ran to get her (and just so you know, I did try to catch her as she was falling but wasn't quite fast enough) and as I picked her up I noticed that her arm was completely limp so I brought her inside and checked it out and she wouldn't let me touch it so I just sat with her for a while and it never turned colors and it didn't seem to be too swollen but I couldn't compare it to the other wrist so I wasn't sure. Anyway, I thought I would just let her rest for a while to see what happened and by the end of the day she was using it but she couldn't put all of her weight on it but it didn't show the "normal" signs of being broken so I just thought she twisted it. Well, after I told the doctor this story she said we better do an x-ray just in case, better safe than sorry and all that. She came back a while after the x-ray and said that it is broken!!! So, she is now wearing a splint but is being a super good sport about the whole thing. We now have to find an orthopedic surgeon to take her to so he can decide whether or not she needs a hard cast. Life around here is so crazy!!!!!!

Here is the invalid

It hasn't slowed her down at all, she is one amazing kid!

For the Grandmas

Nothing too exciting has been happening around here for the past little while but we do have a random video of McKenzie we thought McKenzie's grandmothers would like to see. It isn't anything interesting but I couldn't get a picture of her in her cute jeans and tennis shoes so I got some video of her walking away from me in them.

Where did it go?!?!?!

THERE IT IS!!!!!!!

The Queen, she likes to have the footrest up just to make sure she gets the full experience of the Lazy Boy.

I got a little bored one day so I decided I would just go and play with Kenzie's toys.

Just Kidding!!! Kenzie was playing with me:)

Going Private Part 2

Well, I have stopped getting comments and emails from people so I am guessing that I am not going to hear from anyone else about wanting to see the blog, but just in case I will give everyone a few more days. I will make everything official on Sunday so please let me know by then.

I hope you get a good laugh out of the next post!

I guess Paul was right...

it is always an adventure with me! Yesterday was one of the most crazy days and I just have to share all of the mishaps with everyone. So...

I started the day just like an other day I showered, got ready and then Kenzie and I went to Home Depot to get some tomato cages for the tomatoes that we transplanted into the Charles's yard so they would grow. So that went off without a hitch and then it all went downhill from there. I decided to go and get something for lunch because Paul just sold a bunch of books and we had some cash and while I was there Kenzie fell asleep in the car which is fine but that meant that she didn't sleep in her crib when we got home and that was only 30 minutes later and when she only naps for 30 minutes you know that the day is going to be a little crazy. Well, we went to Babies R Us to get her some winter clothes since we had this cash and cash always seems to burn a hole in both mine and Paul's pockets. It took a long time to decide what to get because they have so many cute things but I finally picked everything out that I wanted and when I got up to the counter the girl told me that if I bought one more thing I would get another for free and who could pass that up?! So I went back to try and decide on two more things and then we checked out and I decided to go to the grocery store to get some milk and cheese, which we were out of both. So I get to the store and walk slowly through just browsing, enjoying myself walking through the WHOLE store and then a very kind woman came up to me and that is when I found out -

I had a giant whole in the seat of my pants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so embarrassed! I could feel myself turning bright red. I said "hmm, I guess I better go home, huh?" I rushed out of the store, after buying the milk and chesse that we NEEDED. How unbelievably embarrassing! I have no idea when my pants ripped so I don't know if the girls at Babies R Us were laughing at me too or not and I was there for like an hour! The one day Paul stays at school all day and can't tell me that everyone can see my underwear. The saddest part is it was all in vain, the clothes that I bought for Kenzie didn't even fit! I had to take them all back this morning she is still in 12 month pants, but has graduated to 18 months tops. AND, the 12 months pants are the perfect length but still too big around the waist, I don' t know what I am going to do with her! Anyway, I just wanted to share my story with everyone in the hopes that someone would share an equally embarrassing story so I won't feel so incredibly stupid.

UPDATE***** Paul is usually right.

Melo Fun

Well, Kenzie has been couped up inside the house for a few days now because her whimpy mom doesn't want to go outside in the humidity and heat. But we have found a few things to do to keep her entertained like, flying on dad's feet and going to the splash park (I know, that is outside). Here are some pictures/videos for the grandmothers and others to enjoy.
Kenzie enjoying a popsicle with Dad, what a beautiful blue mustache.

Enjoying some marshmallows after the splash park (which is free, how cool is that?) She loves marshmallows, I guess we should have named her Marsha after all:)

Dad's Tomboy! Here she is drinking out of the milk carton(it was empty), what a manly thing to do!

Going Private

Since this blog is for people, mostly McKenzie's grandparents, to keep updated with pictures of McKenzie I think I might make this blog private so that strange people can't look at her. I really don't want to go private because I have connected with so many people I wouldn't have otherwise, but if something happened to Kenzie I don't know what I would do! So...if you like to read this blog please leave your email address in the comments and I will add you as a viewer. This means that you will have to sign in everytime you want to see it. I know a lot of people don't like this but it is something that I have been thinking about for a while and I think I will try it. I worry too much, that is the bottom line:)
